Hi, Iām Brandie.
I am so happy that you are considering ISR lessons for your child.
My daughter Lillian completed ISR lessons in Texas when she was 9 months old. We had a pool in our backyard, and I wanted every possible safety measure to protect her. After her lessons, Lillian did fall in the pool - I was only a few feet away, and in the time it took me to reach her she rolled to her back and floated safely.
By the time I had my son we were moving to Sahuarita where there was no instructor dedicated to serving the area. I was already planning to train with ISR and the need in Sahuarita cemented my plans. I have been teaching since spring of 2022. I have also received the Aquatics - Autism Certificate from IBCCES to improve my instruction for students with different needs.
So many of our children, especially here in AZ, will grow up in and around the water. Drowning is the number one cause of death for children ages 1-4 years old across the entire country. It is a tragedy that in many cases, we could potentially prevent by equipping our children with skills. Just as we provide children with life-saving car seats, we can provide our kids with life-saving skills in the water.
